Assessment

A more precise view of bone and body composition.

DEXA, also called DXA, uses low-dose X-ray technology to measure bone mineral density and estimate lean tissue and fat mass across different regions of the body. It can add detail that weight or body mass index alone cannot provide.

Within a longevity assessment, the scan may help frame conversations about bone health, muscle preservation, nutrition, and training. Follow-up timing and clinical significance depend on your individual history and the reason the scan was ordered.

What this explores

Useful questions, clearly framed.

The purpose is to support an informed conversation rather than turn one result or service into the whole plan.

  • 01

Bone mineral density, when included in the scan protocol

  • 02

Estimated lean mass and fat mass by body region

  • 03

A repeatable reference point for an appropriate follow-up plan

What to expect

A considered path from question to next step.

Exact timing, providers, and components are confirmed by the MoveWell Med team based on your circumstances.

01

Suitability check

The team confirms the purpose of the scan and screens for factors that could affect timing or suitability.

02

Brief scan

You lie still on an open scanning table while the machine passes over the body; the test is non-invasive.

03

Results in context

Your report is reviewed alongside movement, nutrition, medical, and laboratory information.
