Assessment

A thoughtful baseline for brain health conversations.

Cognitive and neurological screening may include a health history, questions about day-to-day function, and brief validated tasks that look at areas such as memory, attention, language, and executive function. The clinician may also complete a focused neurological examination when appropriate.

The purpose is to identify whether a concern needs a closer look and to create useful context for follow-up. Brief screening is not the same as a diagnosis, and results can be influenced by sleep, mood, medication, language, education, pain, and other health factors.

What this explores
